Sydney relocation services for the Northern Beaches
Sydney Settlers offer a range of relocation services to suit new migrants who are moving to Sydney and the Northern Beaches region. You can choose as many or as few of the following options as you wish, depending on your requirements and timescales. Alternatively please ask us for any other type of information or service that's not listed here and we'll see if we can help!
Preparing Your Migration To Sydney
Suburb Review - £28 each (£20 each for 5 or more)
Find out more about the area by requesting a detailed report on the Northern Beaches' suburb(s) of your choice. These include Government-supplied demographics, information on the schools and facilities within the area, distances from the city and major local attractions, plus a personalised street map. This map will indicate the exact locations of the most important facilities, including schools, shops, children's parks, swimming pools etc., which will be a valuable source of reference when looking for rental accommodation.
The Suburb Review will also cover leisure and medical facilities in the area, public transport, and where to find examples of rental properties currently available, with their cost. Find out more about these reviews and a list of suburbs covered, as well as a sample Suburb Review here.
Education Overview - £35
We can provide you with a report listing all the primary and secondary schools in the Northern Beaches, including the number of students at each, the school's contact details and any areas that the school specialises in.
If you wish, we will personally contact or visit the Principal to ask any specific questions you may have and to register your child/children at a particular school if required. There is an extra charge for this service - please see below.
Planning Your Arrival
Temporary Accommodation 'Find and Reserve' - £45
The choice of temporary accommodation available in the Northern Beaches is quite extensive, including bed and breakfasts, serviced apartments and fully furnished holiday homes. However, choosing where to stay can be difficult when the area is relatively unknown, and at particularly busy periods such as Christmas and the summer holidays it can also be expensive and in short supply.
We can help alleviate the stress involved with locating accommodation for your first few weeks in Sydney with our 'Find and Reserve' service. We have personally visited and assessed all the accommodation on our database and once we know your requirements, we will produce a short-list of 5 options for you to choose from and email these to you. Once you have chosen your accommodation, we will reserve it for you if you wish.
Meet and Greet - £150-£350 depending on suburb and party size
We will meet you at the airport and arrange your transport to your temporary accommodation. Please request a quote. Prices also include a Welcome Basket and Information Pack (see below).
Welcome Basket - £40
After the long flight to Australia, the last thing on your mind will be shopping! We have put together a basket full of essentials to see you through those first bleary hours in the country, including tea, coffee, milk and bread and also snack and breakfast items, leaving you free to relax and appreciate your new surroundings. This is free to those booking our 'Meet and Greet' service or available at £40 to others.
Information Pack - £20 (£30 posted to the UK)
As new arrivals in Australia, there is so much to think about and plan for that it is easy to forget to organise something important. We have put together a pack of what we consider to be 'essential information' for you to have at your fingertips. It's information that will be at your accommodation when you arrive and won't get lost in the luggage. Our fact sheets include medical information, tax file numbers and how to apply for one, advice on rental information, car hire and Internet cafes, beach safety and more.
After You Have Settled
Like-Minded Link-up - Price dependant on availability, please enquire for details
Despite the beauty of Sydney in general and the Northern Beaches in particular, the adrenalin rush won't last forever! Coming down from the high of realising you're actually 'here' can hit even the most confident person much harder than expected and it can be a very solitary first few months for those without family or friends in the area.
We can help keep any loneliness at bay by providing contact details of migrants who have been through the same re-locating experience and who have similar interests to those of you and your family. Yes, they may be mainly British, but they can help with all those questions that might be embarrassing to ask a local!
We have a network of expats and Australian residents alike who are happy to be a friend while you find your feet and maybe longer. Exactly how long is up to you.
